Living Water International

1 billion people of our world’s 6.8 billion will go to sleep tonight without clean drinking water. Some of them will not wake up tomorrow morning as a result of dehydration or disease.  The most affected group are young children who suffer fatal diseases from water infected with parasites. In fact, 5,000 children under the age of 5 die every day as a result of foul water. To break it down, that’s every…15…seconds. This number has faces. They are our desperate, distant neighbors. The Global Water crisis…”is a silent crisis experienced by the poor and tolerated by those with the resources, technology and the political power to end it.” The current water crisis claims more lives through disease than war, hurricanes, floods, tsunamis & earthquakes combined. The reality is 2.2 million deaths occur each year as a direct result of drinking contaminated water.

How can we translate such a staggering number? It is the equivalent of roughly 20 jumbo jets crashing every day.

Dirty water is holding back human progress by confining humanity to lives of poverty, vulnerability and insecurity. These bottom billion suffer for something we take for granted every day. The average North American uses 400 liters a day whereas the average person in the developing world uses 10 liters of water every day for drinking, washing and cooking (Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council – WSSCC).

Every man dies…

There was a powerful scene in the movie Braveheart. In chains in a dark, dirty dungeon, Mel Gibson’s character William Wallace was set to be brutally executed the following day. The future Queen who would soon have the power to grant him his “freedom” if he would just confess treason. This would mean giving up his own values and his dream of freedom for Scotland…

As the beautiful soon-to-be-queen begged him to give up, he said these powerful words…

“Every man dies. Not every man really lives”

The next day he was brutally tortured to attempt to “cleanse” him. His flesh ripped open by the gothic knives – his body parts practically pulled apart by the rack, and near death already, he laid there barely able to breathe from the incredible pain. The pain was evident in the face of the crowd. They chanted for him to give up. “Confess!” they exclaimed

Then William Wallace motioned to speak. The black hooded, grim reaper looking characters stood by with their be-heading axes, ready to take his life. The executioner quieted the crowd…

“The subject wishes to speak!

The crowd fully expecting him to confess and give up, William Wallace mustered the strength to speak…

“FREEDOM!” he bellows from the depths of everything he had left.

Disappointed the executioner motioned for his death.

As we celebrate our freedom in this country, I want you to remember what life is really all about…

L.I.F.E. stands for Living In Freedom Everyday. Every hour – every moment.

Not the kind of freedom we enjoy as a nation, but the freedom to be the phenomenal person you were created to be in your heart and in your mind. The freedom to have the kind of courage to live out what is right, not what the masses want you to be or what those who want to settle for mediocrity want you to be. Some would have you defeated, given to their lusts, and to be just like them.

Instead, you need to be just like you were created to BE.

As my wife Denise and my son Christian prepare to enjoy the “4th”, I would like to encourage you to Live In Freedom Everyday my friend. Not just on certain days.

My Passion is your PHENOMENAL Success! ™
